The C20 National Squad met at Palacairoli in Lainate (MI) on Saturday October 15th, in order to prepare for the next international match versus Austria, scheduled for November 12th in Laives (BZ).
Supervised by coach Alessio Arezzi and his vice-coach Guerrino Parise, the squad did some warm-up exercises before training with the ball. The players then undertook some ball-passing exercises and some 1 vs 1.
After some coordination sessions (both with and without using the ball), the team worked on schemes and tactics for line outs, corners and free kicks before playing the final friendly match.
The players provided important feedback for the technical staff, also composed by team manager Alessandro Chinelli, goalkeepers trainer William Rossi, mental coach Federico Caliri and athletic trainer Fabrizio Poletti.
An excerpt from the interview with coach Arezzi can be read below:
How important is today’s roundup for the National Team’s preparation?
It’s very important because it gives us the chance to try out the schemes as much as possible, to observe our guys’ ability to assimilate certain game tactics and see if they can translate them into their play when on the field.
How do you feel about November 12th’s match versus Austria?
The match versus Austria is a very important test for us, because it will assess how good the work we’ve done so far after last year’s European Championships has been. We’re building the new team from scratch: we’re working with guys ranging from the 1997 to the 2000 category, so a lot of very young players, who still need to cut their teeth and understand how to tackle important matches.
