The Under 21 European Championship in Lloret de Mar kicks off in a few days, and our squad’s goalkeeper, Gabriele Di Ciommo, had a chat with our press office. Here is an excerpt from the interview:
Gabriele, you are one of the only four players that were also present at the AMF Under 20 World Cup in Chile in 2014. What can you tell us about that experience and what do you expect from the expedition to Spain?
It was a brilliant experience. We met some tough opponents playing a high-level futsal. Surely I expect nothing less from Spain: a high level, and we’ll undoubtedly have to do our best to reach our goals.
You performed great versus Brazil during the World Cup in Chile. Do you recall the game? What sensations did you feel?
Yes, it was probably the best game I’ve ever played. The emotion I felt when we scored the first goal can’t even be described. […] We’ll surely try and do even better!
Can you make a prediction for this European Championship?
We’re surely better prepared than when we went to Chile. We’re willing to do our best and show what we’re capable of, and to perform even better than we did in Chile.
